Founded
Established as a grain merchant supplying Johannesburg’s rapidly growing mining community with feed for horse-drawn transport.
Early 1900s
Adapting to a New Era
As motor vehicles replaced horse-drawn transport, the business evolved into one of Johannesburg’s first motor body repair workshops.
Recognising the growing needs of industry, the Cooper family launched the Engineering Supplies division, beginning with the Carver Clamps agency—still represented by the company today.
1970s
Expanding into Industrial Lifting
The company shifted its focus towards mining, lifting and safety equipment, securing the Nitchi agency and strengthening its position in the industrial marke
